ACT
Overview- The ACT® is a curriculum- and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students’ academic readiness for college. The ACT consists of four multiple-choice tests: English, mathematics, reading, and science. The ACT with writing includes the four multiple-choice tests and a writing test.

Benefits-The ACT motivates students to perform to their best ability. Test scores reflect what students have learned throughout high school and provide colleges and universities with excellent information for recruiting, advising, placement, and retention. Taking the test often results in increased college enrollment, especially for underrepresented students. To support college and career planning, the ACT career exploration component helps students identify career options.

AP
Overview- Advanced Placement is a program administered by College Board that allows you to take courses in high school that can earn you college credit and/or qualify you for more advanced classes when you begin college. AP is designed to give you the experience of an intro-level college class while you’re still in high school.

Benefits- You save money on tuition, you can graduate college sooner, the classes impress college admissions officers, AP classes help develop college-level academic skills, these classes can increase your chances for college-specific merit aid, and you will have more flexibility in college.

ASVAB
Overview-If you're serious about joining the military, then get serious about theArmed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense.

Benefits- The AFQT score determines whether you're qualified to enlist in the U.S. military.Your scores in the other areas of the ASVAB will determine how qualified you are for certain military occupational specialties and Enlistment Bonuses. A high score will improve your chances of getting the specialty/job and signing bonus you want.

PSAT/NMSQT
Overview- The PSAT/NMSQT (or National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a preliminary version of the SAT. Not only does the PSAT help prepare students to take the SAT or ACT, a great score on the PSAT can also open the door to National Merit Scholarships and other awards. With $180 million dollars in scholarships awarded to students that achieve high scores on the PSAT, how you perform on this exam can help you earn scholarship dollars that change the direction of your college planning. The PSAT is much more than a practice test.
