The CCHS Art Department, flourishing with experienced, skilled, and new artists, has already been off to a great start this year. The Art Department recently entered six entries into the East TN Valley Student Art Competition. While several results are still waiting to come in and be released, two CCHS students have already won BIG! Electra Lowe has one 1st place in painting and Bri Mckamey in Best 2D Artwork. Way to go Cougar Painters! Next up on the Art Department's list is the Congressional Medal of Honor Exhibit where four entries were submitted and two were selected. Bri Mckamey and Bella Luna were the two entries selected. All of the artists' award-winning artwork listed above can be seen at the Jacob's Building at the Tennessee Valley Fair. Waiting to come in are the results from the TN Valley Fair Youth Show, where twenty-six entries were submitted. Coming up for the art department is the State Duck Stamp competition, the annual Louie Bluie Festival, and the East TN Region Student Art Exhibit hosted by the Knoxville Museum of Art.
